What is the BBC?
The BBC label – effinergie (Low Consumption Building) is a designation intended for identifying buildings whose very low energy needs contribute to achieve the 2050 objectives: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 4. It is issued by the association EFFINERGIE which relies on certifier partners such as PROMOTELEC for residential buildings (individual and collective), CERQUAL PATRIMOINE for multi-unit housing and grouped individual housing, CEQUAMI for a house in isolated lots and CERTIVEA for tertiary buildings. Several labels can be issued according to the type of project, namely the label BBC EFFINERGIE NEUF (housing, new offices…), the label BBC EFFINERGIE RENOVATION (existing construction), the label BBC EFFINERGIE PLUS ( positive energy constructions)
How it works, key words and steps to be retained!
In order for the owner to obtain a BBC label for his project, he will have to comply with some important steps: Step 1: Designate an approved CERTIFIER so that he establishes his REFERENCE DOCUMENT (document summarising the services to be implemented). Step 2: To carry out a THERMAL STUDY by a RESEARCH DEPARTMENT when developing your project (from this document you will be able to obtain the energy consumption of your construction). Step 3: Filing your DOCUMENT FILE (graphic exhibits, written parts, thermal study…) before work with the certifier. Step 4: EXAMINATION of your file by the certifier. Step 5: AGREEMENT to your technical file by the certifier. Step 6: Beginning of WORKS Step 7: AIR TIGHTNESS TEST carried out by an approved company (only for projects for use as housing). Step 8: CONFORMITY INSPECTION on building site by the CERTIFIER. Step 9: SEAL OF APPROVAL if all of the criteria are respected.
